2024 Lexus LS Unveils Upgraded Tech Enhancements

The 2024 Lexus LS comes with additional technological features for the upcoming model year.

Lexus has made updates to the infotainment system of its flagship sedan for 2023. These updates include the addition of voice control and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The previous Remote Touch Interface trackpad has been removed and replaced with a 12.3 inch infotainment screen. In 2024, the LS 500 will also have a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, and digital key connectivity. Both the LS 500 and the LS 500h hybrid will come with standard wireless phone charging.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0:

The LS 500 models will also have Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 as a standard feature. This system includes electronic driver assist features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.
It also includes Proactive Driving Assist, which can apply steering and braking inputs to help the driver maintain a safe distance from surrounding vehicles. In addition, there is an emergency stop feature that will automatically bring the car to a stop if the driver appears to be incapacitated.

The LS 500h models will have the previous Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver aids as a standard feature, but they can be equipped with the Lexus Teammate hands free driver assist system that was introduced in the 2022 model year. This system is capable of managing acceleration, steering, and braking in single lane highway driving. It can also execute lane changes and navigate certain interchanges and traffic jams. However, it still requires the driver to monitor the driving conditions at all times.

Small Changes for 2024:

The current generation LS was first introduced in 2018, and its styling has remained mostly unchanged since then. The only change for the 2024 model year is the addition of a new color option, Silver Illusion.

The powertrains for the LS remain the same. The LS 500 is equipped with a twin turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 engine that produces 416 hp. It comes with a 10 speed auto transmission and offers rear wheel drive as standard, with the option for all wheel drive. The LS 500 has an estimated 0 60 mph time of 4.6 seconds.

The LS 500h combines a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a hybrid system. The total system output for the LS 500h is 354 hp. It comes with all wheel drive as standard and has an estimated 0 60 mph time of 5.2 seconds.

The 2024 Lexus LS is expected to arrive at dealerships later this year.
