2025 Volvo EX30: A Compact Powerhouse

The new 2025 Volvo EX30 is a subcompact electric crossover that is priced very competitively, making it the least-expensive car in the Volvo lineup.
Despite its affordability, the EX30 is anything but cheap, boasting solid road manners, clever use of interior materials, and an overall charming appeal.

One Motor or Two Sir:

The EX30 will be available in Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance variants. Both models are equipped with a 69 kilowatt hour battery pack, 64 kWh of which is usable, and can be charged at a maximum rate of 153 kW. Volvo claims that it will only take 27 minutes to charge the EX30 from 10% to 80%, but this is dependent on various factors such as the condition of the battery and the charging equipment.

The Single Motor variant features a rear mounted motor with 268 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to reach 60 mph in 5.1 seconds. This model is estimated to have a driving range of 275 miles on a single charge. On the other hand, the Twin Motor Performance variant includes a second motor on the front axle, resulting in a total output of 422 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. This version can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it Volvo’s fastest production car to date.

The Inside View:

In terms of interior and technology, the EX30 is equipped with a range of features. It comes with an infotainment system that runs on Volvo’s Android-powered operating system, providing access to apps like Spotify and wireless Apple CarPlay. The interior is also designed with a focus on sustainability, incorporating recycled materials in its construction. Additionally, the rear bench offers ample space, and the upright design of the vehicle allows for the easy storage of bulky items.

Overall, the 2025 Volvo EX30 proves that an inexpensive car can still deliver on quality, performance, and technology without feeling cheap. With its charming appeal, comfortable interior, and competitive pricing, the EX30 is a compelling option for EV buyers.
