When it comes to compact SUVs, the Mazda CX-30 has always been a popular choice among drivers who prioritize athleticism and high-quality interiors. For the 2024 model year, Mazda has introduced eight trim levels for the gasoline-powered CX-30, including the powerful “2.5 Carbon Turbo” with 250 horsepower and a new 10.25-inch center display with touchscreen.
The 2024 Mazda CX-30 makes a few minor changes to this perennially popular compact SUV while maintaining its award-winning external appearance and effective petrol engines. The Mazda CX-30 adopts the most recent grade naming approach, which includes Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line, and Takumi grades throughout the model lineup.
All CX-30 models feature all-wheel drive, as well as G-Vectoring Control Plus and Off-Road Traction Assist as standard. The interior boasts an Mazda Connect infotainment system, which can be controlled using the multi-function commander knob.
The central screen on the 2024 Mazda CX-30 has increased in size from 8 to 10.25 inches, providing a sharper navigational map. Other improvements to connectivity include QI Wireless Charging, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto navigation is now available in the head-up display. The Mazda3 of 2024 now has USB Type-C charging connectors as well.
Complementing the high-class cabin design and driver focused ergonomics, the Mazda CX-30 is offered in three interior colour schemes depending on model grade. Premium dark grey cloth with black interior accents is standard on Prime-Line, Centre-Line and Exclusive-Line cars.
The 2024 Mazda CX-30 retains its all-petrol engine line-up, offering customers a choice between the 186ps e-Skyactiv-X engine or the 122ps e-Skyactiv-G engine. The e-Skyactiv-X engine incorporates Mazda’s unique SPCCI Spark Controlled Compression Ignition technology, delivering 186ps at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 240Nm at 4,000rpm. The e-Skyactiv-X engine provides a wider range of combustion efficiency. This not only results in higher maximum engine torque but also improves real-world fuel economy.
Furthermore, the Mazda M Hybrid mild-hybrid system’s software ensures quick torque reactions from the belt-driven ISG, resulting in a smoother engine performance during acceleration. The most popular engine option, the 2.0-litre e-Skyactiv-G engine, delivers 122ps and 213Nm of torque. Like the e-Skyactiv-X engine, all models are equipped with Mazda M Hybrid mild-hybrid technology to maximize efficiency.
Customers have the option to pair both engines with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox, providing a wide range of choices. The 122ps e-Skyactiv-G engine is available across all five grades of the 2024 Mazda CX-30: Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line, and Takumi.
