Quick Review of the 2024 Buick Envista: Punches above it’s Weight

Pros of the 2024 Buick Envista include its compelling design, ample interior space, quiet and refined driving experience, punchy and efficient engine, well equipped features, and low price. However, it does have a few drawbacks such as the unavailability of all wheel drive and slightly hard armrests. Despite these cons, the Envista is a remarkable vehicle that surprises with its impressive features and affordable price. Many people assumed that the Copper Ice test car pictured above cost much higher. Despite its sleek roofline, the Envista offers one of the largest back seats and cargo areas in its class.

The interior of the Envista boasts some hard plastics, especially on the doors, which is common for its segment. However, these plastics do not look cheap and are mostly found in areas that are not frequently touched. The cabin is attractive and user friendly, with the Sport Touring trim featuring leatherette seating and a dash top pleather trim that adds a luxurious touch. The highlight of the interior is the curved housing that encases a pair of displays. The all digital instruments are classy and provide essential information, while the 11 inch touchscreen, although not feature rich, has well laid out controls and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, wireless charging is available on all trims.

Bigger on the Outside

In terms of size, the Envista falls into the subcompact SUV segment due to its rakish roofline, although its length and wheelbase are similar to the Honda CR-V. Inside, it offers generous rear seat legroom, accommodating even tall passengers comfortably. However, headroom is slightly compromised compared to boxy compact SUVs. The cargo space is impacted by the roofline, but once the cargo cover is removed, it can still accommodate a reasonable amount of luggage. In fact, it outperforms most competitors in its segment in terms of cargo capacity.

Under the hood, the Envista is powered by a 1.2 liter turbo three cylinder engine delivering 137 hp.
It’s six speed auto transmission comes exclusively with front-wheel drive. Acceleration from 0-60 mph is in the mid 9 second range too!. The engine offers a punchy performance around town and a pleasantly refined sound.
The six speed auto is efficient and does its job without any complications. The Envista also offers impressive fuel economy with an estimated 12 km/l in the city.

Despite its slow performance specifications, the driving experience of the Envista is surprisingly good. The engine provides sufficient power for city driving, and the transmission is responsive. The car remains quiet on highways, offers a comfortable ride, and has well weighted steering. The driver’s seat is comfortable, ensuring a pleasant driving experience. The Sport Touring trim, equipped with the optional Watts linkage rear suspension, enhances the overall comfort and handling of the vehicle.

Overall, the 2024 Buick Envista is an impressive vehicle

It offers a compelling design, spacious interior, refined driving experience, and efficient engine at an affordable price. While it may lack all wheel drive and feature some hard plastics in the interior, these drawbacks are out weighed by its thoughtful design and engineering. The Envista stands out as one of the best inexpensive cars in the market.
