Nissan was among the first automakers to embrace the EV revolution, while its luxury arm, Infiniti, took a slower approach to the new segment. However, on October 24, Infiniti unveils its first EV in the form of a sleek and stylish crossover concept called Vision Qe. This concept aligns with Infiniti’s current naming convention and signifies the brand’s entry into the EV market.
Infiniti has a history of producing long and sleek crossovers, such as the iconic FX35 based on the 350Z. With the world’s preference shifting away from box-shaped cars, the resurrection of curvy coupe-like designs is imminent. The teaser image suggests that the Vision Qe will indeed be an attractive and stylish vehicle.
The Vision Qe is just the beginning of Infiniti’s “Ambition 2030” revamp plan, which will feature the global debut of several new models. With its current lineup consisting of one sedan and three SUVs, Infiniti is in desperate need of innovation and expansion.
Facing increasingly low sales and a lack of new models, Infiniti has been undergoing significant changes. The brand has redesigned its logo, developed a new retail store design, and promises a “product renaissance.” Infiniti is determined to bring about a new era and refresh its brand.
As a fan of Infiniti, I am hopeful that the Vision Qe lives up to its teaser and that Infiniti can achieve its goals for a corporate refresh by 2030. The automotive industry needs this resilient brand to regain its strength and competitiveness.
We will have more news later when Infiniti Unveils Its First EV on Oct 24th.
