Pebble Flow: An Electric Travel Trailer with Its Own Drive System

Pebble, a California startup announced it will unveil its first product, an electric travel trailer called the Flow, at the 2023 Los Angeles auto show next month.

The 25-foot Pebble Flow, similar in concept to Lightship’s L1 and Airstream’s eStream, features its own battery and drive system. This system is designed to assist the towing vehicle, potentially important for EV, by conserving fuel and boosting range. Additionally, the drive system can be used remotely to maneuver the trailer in tight spaces and during hitching. Pebble has developed a unique hitching feature called the Magic Hitch, which automatically positions and connects the trailer to the tow vehicle. The Flow requires a tow vehicle with a minimum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds.

The Flow is equipped with a 45-kWh battery that powers all of the trailer’s appliances. Combined with solar panels for charging (1 kW) and regenerative braking, Pebble claims that the Flow can function off grid for up to seven days.

To enhance outdoor experiences:

The Pebble Flow includes an InstaCamp feature that deploys or retracts an awning, stairs, lights, and auto-leveling stabilizers with the push of a button. This enables quick setup and packing for camping sites.

The trailer is equipped with various conveniences, including a kitchen with a microwave and fridge, compatibility with Starlink. It has a sleeping capacity for four, and a dedicated app for controlling features such as the climate system.

The Pebble Flow starts at a price of $109,000. There is an optional Magic Pack available, which includes a more powerful drive system, remote control, and Magic Hitch features. This brings the starting price up to $125,000. The company plans to begin deliveries in late 2024.

Finally, The use of these travel trailers is not popular in Cambodia, I doubt we will see any soon.
