2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: The Exclusive 700 Club

In Barcelona, Spain, Porsche has introduced an updated Cayenne range for 2024. One of the new additions to the lineup is the Turbo E-Hybrid, which boasts an impressive 729-horsepower gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain. This makes it the most powerful Cayenne model to date.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid utilizes a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission. These enhancements, along with a larger lithium-ion battery pack and an 11-kilowatt charger, result in increased electric range and faster charging times.

Compared to the outgoing Turbo S E-Hybrid model, the Turbo E-Hybrid offers more power and quicker acceleration. Its 4.0-liter V8 engine is twin-turbocharged to produce 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The revised engine also features single-scroll turbochargers and a 350-bar fuel injection system for improved fuel economy.

The hybrid drivetrain’s combined output is a staggering 729 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. This allows the Turbo E-Hybrid to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph. In comparison, the previous Turbo model had 541 horsepower and 567 pound-feet of torque, while the retired Turbo S E-Hybrid had 670 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque.

While some may consider the absence of the “S” emblem on the Turbo E-Hybrid a downgrade, the increased power and performance make up for it. The Turbo E-Hybrid also benefits from enhanced features such as an electric brake booster, Torque Vectoring Plus system, and adaptive air suspension with two-valve technology. These improvements contribute to both improved comfort and performance.

A New Design:

In terms of design, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid can be distinguished from other Cayenne models by its larger front air intakes, specific exhaust outlets, and 21-inch wheels. Both the standard Cayenne and the Coupe version are available in Turbo E-Hybrid trim. Additionally, buyers in certain markets, including Europe, have the option to add a GT Package, which includes wider wheels, a specific suspension system, and carbon ceramic brakes.
