A Look at the 2024 Polestar 3: Reviewing the Future of Polestar

Located in Sandhult, Sweden, Polestar is introducing the 3 as a preview of the brand’s future direction. This model represents a new phase in design, technology, and handling that will extend to future models. As the first SUV in the lineup, the 2024 Polestar 3 will play a vital role in expanding the brand’s sales.
CEO Thomas Ingenlath explains that the decision to enter the SUV segment was a gradual process to strategically build up the company’s lineup.

Unveiled in October 2022, the Polestar 3 showcases a design that sets it apart from the earlier 2, which featured a distinct Volvo based design. The new model signals the future of the brand’s design language and will influence future models, such as the upcoming sport sedan called 5. While creating its unique identity, Polestar still maintains connections to Volvo, capitalizing on the trust and reputation of the established brand.

Minimalist Approach to Interior:

On the interior, subtle design cues and a minimalist approach reflect the influence of Volvo’s aesthetic. Despite the resemblances, the Polestar 3 provides its own unique user experience and a distinct font, named Polestar Unica. The focus on driving dynamics further differentiates the 3 from Volvo’s EX90 model, which is oriented towards versatility.

In terms of performance, the Polestar 3 is available in two models, each powered by dual motor all wheel drive systems with large lithium-ion battery packs. The weight and power of the vehicle allow for a quick and linear driving experience, with the capability to switch to front-wheel drive when additional power is not necessary. Additionally, the vehicle’s suspension and differential systems are designed to offer precise and agile handling, maintaining a balance between efficiency and drivability.

On road driving focus:

While the Polestar 3 is capable of handling tough terrains, its primary focus is on-road performance and driving dynamics. The vehicle showcases a strategic departure from Volvo’s offerings while maintaining the brand’s reputation and trust value. As Polestar continues to evolve, it aims to establish a unique identity and build on the foundation of its parent company, Volvo.

In conclusion, the 2024 Polestar 3 shows the brand’s forward thinking approach to design, technology, and driving dynamics, setting a precedent for future models. With a distinct focus on innovative features and performance, the 3 stands as a promising addition to Polestar’s lineup, carving out its unique position within the competitive automotive market.

Currently there is no official dealer for Polestar in Cambodia. This would make buying a challenge with no service or repair support. Something that is important with this new EV technology.
