Lucid Gravity Leading the Electric SUV’s with a 440 Mile Range

When Lucid, a startup based in California, made its debut in 2021 with the release of the Air, an impressive electric luxury sedan, there was high anticipation and excitement. However, despite the vehicle receiving widespread acclaim, it has faced challenges as a slow seller, leading to significant financial losses for the brand. In an attempt to reverse its fortunes, The American brand has introduced a three row SUV with promising specifications. Key to this is the surprising 400 mile range, making Lucid Gravity the Leading Electric SUV.

The Lucid Gravity sets itself apart by riding on a completely new platform designed specifically for SUVs, rather than simply sharing the architecture of the Air. Additionally, it utilizes next generation versions of Lucid’s motors, which are acclaimed as the most power dense production units in the world, along with an updated 900 volt electrical architecture. The top model of the Gravity is projected to reach 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, with a payload capacity of more than 1,500 pounds and the ability to tow at least 6,000 pounds. An optional adaptive air suspension package, known as Zero Gravity, offers manual height adjustments for improved off roading capabilities.

All New Electronics Pack a Punch:

The Gravity boasts a new battery pack that is not only smaller and lighter but also utilizes fewer precious materials. While specific details regarding the battery pack have not been provided, Lucid claims that with a 350-kW fast charger, the Gravity can achieve 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Furthermore, it is expected to require less energy to charge than current Lucid models.

The standout feature of the Lucid Gravity Leading the Electric SUV’s is its impressive projected range of over 440 miles for the top trim, surpassing other electric SUVs in the market.

In terms of design, the Gravity features a drag coefficient of just 0.24, rivaling the Model X and surpassing most other three row SUVs. Despite its exceptional aerodynamic performance, the Gravity maintains a traditional two-box silhouette, distinguishing it from other SUVs in the market. With its purposeful aesthetics and innovative design language, the Gravity presents a visually striking appearance.

The interior of the Gravity emphasizes space and comfort, providing ample room for both passengers and cargo. The vehicle showcases innovative features such as a second row bench that slides fore and aft, tray tables for middle row passengers, and a panoramic sunroof that extends to the third row. Additionally, the Gravity offers a substantial frunk with a large opening and strategically placed hinges for added functionality.

Next Generation Technology:

In terms of technology, the Gravity introduces Lucid’s next generation user interface and control setup, featuring a curved 34-inch display atop the dashboard that seamlessly integrates various functions. The overall interior design incorporates high quality materials such as real wood, aluminum trim, and a combination of luxurious leather and sustainable materials.

With production set to begin in late 2024, the Gravity will be manufactured at the same Arizona factory that currently produces the Air. Despite the challenges faced by the brand, the introduction of the Gravity represents a significant step for Lucid as it aims to reshape its position in the electric vehicle market. As the Gravity makes its public debut at the LA Auto Show, expectations are high for its potential to elevate the brand’s standing and appeal to a broader range of customers. Notably, the possibility of a high performance Sapphire model adds further anticipation to the release of the Lucid Gravity.
