New Badge and Exclusive Trim for Porsche Turbo Models

According to an announcement made by Porsche on Tuesday, the company will be revamping the “Turbo” trims across its entire range. Turbo models will now include a new badge and exclusive trim to enhance consistency in appearance and to set them apart from non Turbo models. Moving forward, Turbo models will be more distinguishable from the standard versions of the same model. More focus on the Porsche crest, it will no longer sport the traditional gold seen in the current lineup.

“For nearly 50 years, the Turbo models have held a prestigious position at Porsche,” the company stated in its announcement. “To highlight their unique status, Porsche will introduce distinct design elements to enhance their appearance and differentiate them from other models in the lineup.”

A New Focal Point:

The focal point of this transformation is Porsche’s new metallic grey paint code called “Turbonite.” This color will replace the gold in Porsche’s crest and will be integrated into other components both inside and outside. While gold will still be utilized to create an “elegant, metallizing effect,” a satin finish layer will tone down those elements to highlight the Turbonite finish that will be featured on all of Porsche’s Turbo models, starting with the 2024 Panamera.

“Moving forward, the Turbo versions will showcase a consistent appearance across all model lines. One that is sophisticated, high quality, and truly unique,” stated Michael Mauer, vice president, Style Porsche.

However, In future, this treatment will also extend to components of the front fascia and wheels, depending on the model). It will also be visible on the steering wheel crest in the interior of each Turbo model. Other components that may feature the new Turbonite finish include the switchgear, contrast stitching, door panel inserts, and floor mats.
