The 2024 Porsche Panamera receives drivetrain updates

The 2024 Porsche Panamera made its global debut online, and despite sharing a strong resemblance with the previous model, the new Panamera boasts numerous mechanical, chassis, and interior improvements. Visually, the changes made to the third-generation Panamera are primarily evolutionary.
While the car looks similar to its predecessor, it goes beyond a simple facelift, with significant changes under the hood.

The front end features a redesigned bumper and more angular headlights, while the fenders have been made taller. The rear hatch’s window loses its metal frame, and the light bar has been revamped. Additionally, the Panamera Turbo models now come with the new Turbonite finish and have center-locking wheels available as an option. Porsche has streamlined the range to include two body styles: the standard Panamera and the long-wheelbase Executive variant, discontinuing the Sport Turismo station wagon due to low global sales.

Refined and new Turbonite:

The interior of the new Panamera, referred to as the Porsche Driver Experience, sports a layout similar to recent additions in the brand’s lineup. The driver-oriented cockpit features a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster without a binnacle, a push-button start, and a sharp-edged shifter on the center console. The car also offers an optional 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger.

When it comes to the trims, Porsche is initially launching the Panamera, Panamera 4, and the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. The Panamera and Panamera 4 are equipped with a 2.9-liter turbo V6 engine. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid features a gasoline-electric plug-in hybrid drivetrain. It boasts a 670-horsepower engine and takes a mere 3.0 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph.

Innovative Suspension:

Porsche’s third-generation Panamera offers several new technologies, including the Porsche Active Ride suspension system. This features active shock absorbers powered by an electrically-operated hydraulic pump. This system provides an ultra-smooth and extremely comfortable ride while maintaining excellent handling capabilities.

The new Panamera is on sale in Germany, and buyers can choose from the base and all-wheel-drive models. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid’s pricing and launch details to be announced later. The extensive list of standard features includes an air suspension system, LED Matrix Design headlights, and a cooled smartphone compartment with inductive charging. Additionally, a range of optional features is available, such as InnoDrive technology, smartphone-controlled Remote ParkAssist, and rear-wheel steering.

In conclusion, the third-generation 2024 Porsche Panamera offers a compelling blend of familiar design. There are significant performance improvements, and innovative technologies, making it a strong contender in the luxury sedan segment. Its combination of evolutionary design changes and cutting-edge features showcases Porsche’s commitment to delivering high-performance and luxurious driving experiences to its discerning customers.
